For My Baby

Dear Jacob,

I am your mom, so you know that I love you with everything that I have.  That includes my knitting hands and my Cashmerino yarn.  This baby owl vest is for you.  I know that it will fit you at some point as long as it is not too small.

The next thing I make you will need more yarn.  The next thing will get grass stains on it instead of formula stains.  The next thing will be measured in Ts instead of months.

So when you wear this vest, don't be afraid to shake your squash-filled spoon at it.  Feel free to collect Puffs in between the stitches.  Do all those beautiful baby things you do in it.  And then stretch it out with your perfectly multiplying cells.

Love, Mama

    1. Thanks so much, Leah. I think I'm going to have to try your applique super hero initials! Very cute. I need a Super J too.

  4. That is SO cute, and I have to say that your message to your son is just as sweet as the vest itself, if not more so! I have an almost-4-yr-old son myself, and I know they grow too quickly! Thanks for entering this in One Crafty Contest; good luck!
